The results of experimental research into the peculiarities of the cognitive function and those of the occupational interests of teachers at the age of 26-29 are provided in the paper. The employment of the instrumental conception of occupational interests made it possible to find out the level of their development among young teachers. The importance of many characteristics relevant to memory, attention and thinking is revealed. A high degree of structure integration of cognitive functions is shown. The data obtained may be used as the orientation in handling the problems concerning occupational readaptation, self-education and other kinds of permanent education of the adults.
